One key component of product development is product testing. LCE recognizes that a product design firm would be incomplete without the proper knowledge, experience and equipment needed to perform tests when designing and improving products. Not only does the LCE team conduct extensive testing on products that we design but we also support customers who want to utilize LCE’s testing expertise on their existing designs.

Examples of our work:

One example of work provided by LCE is when a customer was experiencing a high quantity of unit failures in the field. LCE created a team to visually inspect the units, delicately remove potting, then analyze them to determine their specific failure. For all returned units, failure was determined to be due to ultracaps that were embedded in the potting material and not allowed to expand during high temperature periods, resulting in component failure. In a follow-on project, LCE managed testing and recording of additional field returns.

In a second case, a startup noticed their wireless sensors were not performing as expected, but did not have the equipment or experience to narrow in on the issue. Within a day, LCE was able to identify that the performance issue was inherent in the device antenna, and was able to recommend a specific design change, providing a solution to the problem.
